Cruz Tees Off on McConnell

Update:  I now have the video of Cruz’ speech on the Senate floor.  Other than when he accuses McConnell of lying, my favorite part of the speech is when Senator Cruz says, “We have a government of the lobbyists, by the lobbyists, and for the lobbyists”.  The video is almost twenty minutes long, but I swear it’s worth watching every minute.  Cruz is sounding more and more Presidential to me, I’m just sayin’.

According to this post in The Washington Times, Senator Ted Cruz today expressed his feelings for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and it wasn’t pretty.  From TWT article:

Mr. Cruz, Texas Republican who is seeking the GOP presidential nomination, launched into a campaign-style speech from the floor, saying the leader lied to him when he said there wasn’t pact in the works to revive the federal Export-Import Bank, an agency that finances the sale of U.S. goods overseas and lapsed June 30.

“The majority leader looked at me and said there is no deal there is no deal, there is no deal, there is no deal. Like St. Peter, he said it three times,” Mr. Cruz said, referring to an episode at a party luncheon after lawmakers debated President Obama’s trade agenda.

Mr. McConnell, Kentucky Republican, announced Friday a compromise in which senators would get the chance to repeal Obamacare, “something nearly every Republican wants, and something we’ll continue to fight for,” and then to revive the Ex-Im bank, “something nearly every Democrat wants.”

Y’all need to follow the link to the TWT post, and read it all.  Cruz is understandably angry with GOP leadership.  Who can blame him?  I know most of our readers are fed up, too.
