EPA Takes Over Gun Control Fight

Even though President Obama says “82%” of Americans agree with him over gun control, he just can’t seem to get any gun control measures passed. That’s okay. He don’t need no stinkin’ gun control measures. Not when he’s got the EPA in his back pocket.

The EPA??? What do they have to do with gun control?

Good question.

Over the weekend, I noticed an article on Allen West’s site that made the blood boil. It seems that there has been only one lead smelting plant (a plant that separates the lead from the ore) still in operation in the United States.

The Doe Run Company, has existed in the same location since 1892 in Herculaneum, Missouri. The bullion they produce is then sold to lead product producers, like ammunition manufactures to make projectiles or bullets, if you will.

In 2008, the EPA released the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for lead that were 10 times more strict than the previous standard. Since that time, Doe Run has taken steps to come into compliance with these new standards but it has become so costly, that they are now forced to close up shop.

With this source of lead bullion cut off, the cost of ammunition is going to skyrocket.

Wanna keep your guns? Fine. How are you going to shoot it if you can’t afford any ammunition, huh?

You can read more about this, here. This is back door gun control at it’s finest and further proof that the EPA has way more authority than it needs.

Be sure to write or call your representative and let them know how you feel about this.
