Fake News Gets Debunked. Again.

Yesterday, rumors swirled that President Trump was going to take away the rights of gay people.  I’ve heard this over and over, and nobody who says it ever has proof.  Check out this story at the Washington Free Beacon.  From the WFB post:

“An executive order from President Donald Trump opening up discrimination against the LGBTQ community on the basis of religious belief is expected sometime this week, possibly as soon as today,” reported LGBTQ Nation.

The reports were wrong. The White House issued a statement Tuesday declaring President Trump will keep a Barack Obama executive order in place that prohibited discrimination against LGBQ individuals who work as contractors for the federal government.

“President Donald J. Trump is determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community,” the White House said. “President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of LGBTQ rights, just as he was throughout the election.”  (Emphasis mine)

So far, President Trump is doing exactly what he said he would do, with regards to immigration, the border wall, and economic development.  I’ll wager that he’ll continue to do the same regarding everyone’s civil rights.  I’m just sayin’.
