GOP Too Timid At Yesterday’s Hearing

Yesterday, I sat stunned, watching the Congressional hearing on the Obamacare website. They had her RIGHT THERE. Kathleen Sibelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, was right there in front of them with her mea culpa at the ready….And they pitched softball after softball after softball.

One would not expect ANY of the Democrats on the committee to ask any reasonable questions. They did not disappoint. The Dems fawned over her, praising her with every breath. Which, is just what one would expect.

The GOP, however, acted as if they were too scared to go after this woman, after all these weeks of blustering and grandstanding. Oh sure, a couple, Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Congressman Mike Rogers from Michigan did, at least, make an attempt at getting to the truth. Mike Rogers took Sibelius to task over the security issues related to the site and Mrs. Blackburn went after her with a certain amount of zeal over who, exactly was responsible for this disaster of a roll out.

During the exchange Sibelius exclaimed, ” I apologize. I’m accountable to you. I am committed to earning your confidence back.”

I’m not the only one that noticed how weak and watered down the Republican grilling was.

Back me up, Rush.
