Home of the Politically Correct

Essay by Jelena Anderson, Honest Answer Media Contributor

Lee Greenwood once sang, “I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free…”. That freedom is disappearing bit by bit, and we are doing nothing to stop it.

Maybe we should rewrite the part of the National Anthem that calls America “the land of the Free and home of the Brave” into “the land of the politically correct and the home of the entitlement”.

What do you know about history?

Even if you don’t know a lot of details, one thing you ought to know: It has a habit of repeating itself. When God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel, turned their back on Him repeatedly God eventually turned away from them and allowed destruction to come upon them. Not until they were carried away into captivity, their capital destroyed, and millions of them were killed, did they remember their Creator and turn to Him once more.

Same Bible, opened to 2 Chronicles Chapter 12.

Holy Bible, opened to 2 Chronicles Chapter 12.

America is following that same path of destruction. The signs are everywhere; and we are too divided and busy to see it.

As Christians, we have turned a blind eye to what is happening in our nation. We keep thinking that somebody else will come along and do the job for us, but who do you think that will be?

The Bible has called US, you and me, to proclaim the Good News, to be a Witness to the world, to be light and salt.

Yes, we are supposed to love people, but we are also supposed to be God-pleasers, not people-pleasers.

How will we justify our inactions, when our loved ones face Judgement Day and we didn’t do anything to help them; because we were too busy “loving them”?

We are called to love the sinners but to hate the sin, but didn’t we just condone the sin, when a panel of non-elected judges in the Supreme Court decided to overrule the Supreme Being and change the institution of marriage, and we didn’t do anything to stop it? Not only did we condone it; we are celebrating it. The White House was lit up like a rainbow:  Rainbow flags are flying all over the place, but as Christians, we don’t have the right to get offended, right?

We just celebrated Independence Day last weekend, and it’s a good thing, too; because we might not be able to celebrate our freedom much longer since we are giving up more and more of it each day.

It is time that Christians quit arguing over which denomination is right, or which interpretation of the Bible is correct. It is time that Christians band together and start standing up for what is right in the eyes of God instead of what is politically correct.

God is a good and loving God, full of mercy and kindness; but if we keep spitting in His face and acting like we couldn’t care less about anything He told and/or gave us, we might just find ourselves being carried off into captivity like Israel at some point.

Wake up, America! The enemy is already at our gates but we are too divided to take a stand.

Yes, you might lose friends; you might lose business. You might stand alone for a while, but Jesus already knew these things and warned us about them.

On Judgement Day nobody but YOU will have to answer for your actions or inactions. Would you rather tell God that you might not have done all the right things, but at least you were one of the popular kids in school; or that you had to stand alone, but at least you stood for what is right?!?

To me, this is a no-brainer. How about you, America?
