Kerry’s “Nuanced Approach” Just Ended The Monroe Doctrine

Monroe Doctrine

Yup, you read that right. 200 years of foreign policy has been stamped under the heel of the Obama Administration.

According to Breitbart, yesterday, Secretary of State John Kerry told the Organization for American States, “The era of the Monroe Doctrine is over.” This is not a casual statement. This was a declaration, pure and simple. As the delegates whooped and clapped, the Secretary said, “That’s worth applauding!” The Secretary knew full well the implications of making this statement, to THAT particular organization.

Don’t remember The Monroe Doctrine?

“The Monroe Doctrine is the best known U.S. policy toward the Western Hemisphere. Buried in a routine annual message delivered to Congress by President James Monroe in December 1823, the doctrine warns European nations that the United States would not tolerate further colonization or puppet monarchs. The doctrine was conceived to meet major concerns of the moment, but it soon became a watchword of U.S. policy in the Western Hemisphere.”

In other words, The Monroe Doctrine let Europe and the rest of the world know that BOTH American continents fall under the sphere of North American interests.

The Monroe Doctrine last saw light of day back in 1962 when The Soviet Union attempted to locate missile silos in Cuba. You may remember it as “The Cuban Missile Crisis”.

Big Deal…Right?

I mean, it’s not like it’s going to have any “major” reprocussions. Will it?

What Secretary Kerry did, yesterday, was tell the rest of the world to do as they will in Latin America and the Western Hemisphere, in general. We won’t stand in your way.

We’ve already seen examples of Iran trying to broaden it’s horizons in Latin America. China and Russia have lifted the tent with their noses, as well.

This policy of appeasement and looking the other way while our nation’s enemies conspire and plan our destruction is going to prove to be a large part of our undoing. You can rest assured, though. There WILL be hearings on this. The Secretary WILL have to answer to The Senate for these remarks.

But will the mainstream press report on it?

Will they even notice?

And THAT is the real story.
