Look Out, Israel: Foreign Leaders Lobby US Congress for Iran Deal

“The prospect of the rejection of a deal makes us nervous,” Philipp Ackermann, the acting German ambassador to the United States, said Thursday. “It would be a nightmare for every European country if this is rejected.”

The above quote comes from this article in Foreign Policy magazine.  Sounds like Europe is more worried about it’s finances than anything else.  Oh, yeah…speaking of the German Ambassador, he also had this to say:

“It’s really our conviction that Israel comes out safer in this deal,” Ackermann told a small group of reporters, including FP, at the German Embassy on Thursday. “Otherwise, we would not have signed the deal.”

I know I’m not the only one who sees the irony in Germany assuring Jews of their safety, am I?

The main focus of the FP post is that Russia and China are also lobbying Democrats on behalf of Iran.  What could possibly go wrong?
