Romney’s VP pick is no dummy

Unless those of you reading this post are just awakening from a coma, you are aware that Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan to be his running-mate.  Of course Marty and I will be talking about Mitt’s VP pick tonight, and probably for most of the show.  There is  a  lot to discuss; from the reaction of the Obama camp, to the MSM’s take, to our own thoughts on a Romney/Ryan ticket.

A lot of things go through my mind when contemplating the Republican side of the General upcoming.  I’ll save most of those thoughts for The Honest Answer tonight at 6:30pm Central, but here is one I want to express here and now:  In picking Paul Ryan as VP, Mitt Romney explodes the part of the Progressive narrative that posits that their (the prog’s) opposition is stupid and shallow.  See here, here, and here.  In an interview with S.E. Cupp, Ryan reveals that if he hadn’t gone into politics, he would have been an economist.  Economics is not for mental lightweights, and Ryan has proven, to me, over and over that he is anything but stupid or shallow.

Marty and I will be talking more about Paul Ryan tonight, and we’ll talk about how a Romney/Ryan ticket does a Godzilla on more than one aspect of the prog narrative.  Tune in and join the discussion.   How do y’all feel about Romney’s pick?  Leave us a comment and we’ll try to work it into the show tonight.
