Russia Practices Mock Scandinvasion

h/t Drudge Report

Never mind all the squirrels in the news today, no matter how many they are.  I can assure y’all that the rest of the world is continuing in its’ course, and the same foreign threats that we had yesterday are still just as real today.

Hey, don’t take my word for it, y’all. Take a look at this post in the Telegraph, telling about a Russian military exercise wherein Russian troops pretended to invade Scandinavia.  From the Telegraph:

Tens of thousands of soldiers rehearsed a military takeover of Swedish and Norwegian territory near the Baltic Sea in March, security expert Edward Lucas said in a report for the US-based Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).

Nah…Vladimir Putin has no interest in the Baltic States, right?  More; from the Telegraph post:

‘The scenario included the speedy seizure of northern Norway, the Åland islands, the Swedish island of Gotland and the Danish island of Bornholm,’ the report states.

‘If carried out successfully, control of those territories would make it all but impossible for NATO allies to reinforce the Baltic states.’

Have a nice, worry-free weekend.  You’re welcome.
