Steubenville NAACP President Says Rape Victim “Drunk and Willing”
Remember the case in Steubenville, Ohio where two high school football players were convicted of raping a young lady during a wild night of drinking and partying? The case split the town of Steubenville almost right down the middle.
Here’s a link to the story if you’re not familiar with it.
Royal Mayo, the Steubenville NAACP chapter President, says the blame in this case should be placed on the 16 yr old victim. Mayo refers to the young lady as “the alleged victim”, saying she was drunk and willing to go along with the boys.
“They’re alleging she got raped; she’s acknowledging that she wanted to leave with Trent. Her friends say she pushed them away as she went and got into the car, twice telling them, ‘I know what I’m doing; I’m going with Trent,’”
Here’s something to think about:
What if the same had been said about Tawana Brawley or the young lady in the Duke Lacrosse incident? What if it had been said by someone like Bill O’Reilly? (It should be noted that in the above cases, both young women later admitted they had made it all up)
