Thin-Skinned and Scared of Sunshine
Yesterday, while looking around the web, I came across this post in the Washington Free Beacon, telling how one of their reporters was booted out of a US State Department briefing in Vienna. From the Free Beacon article:
Two State Department officials booted theFree Beacon from a room where Wendy Sherman, the undersecretary of state for political affairs, was talking to reporters, despite the Free Beacon’s being credentialed by the Austrian government for the ongoing Iranian nuclear talks.
There are more details at the link.
Could it be this kind of story that the State Department is afraid that the Washington Free Beacon would publish? The Washington Free Beacon is not one of the Obama Administration’s lapdogs, and frequently publishes articles that are less than flattering of the State Department. As far as I can tell, the WFB is merely reporting factual information.
John Kerry and the US Department of State, I think, know that any deal they make with Iran is going to be torn apart by anyone with half a brain. Booting a reporter from a briefing is just one more example pettiness and thin skin of the Executive Branch. The sunshine of the truth will burn those making the nuclear deal with the Ayatollah. I say let it burn, and kudos to the Free Beacon.
