Topsy-Turvy Tuesday: I Support…Chuck Schumer?

There is a rift in the Democrat Party, and Chuck Schumer is one of the riftees, opposing the Iran nuclear deal against the wishes of the Emperor.  It’s a strange old world, y’all, when I find myself feeling sorry for Charles Schumer.  According to this post in The Washington Times, Schumer’s opposition to the P5+1 deal is based on the Senator’s support for Israel.

“There are going to be some Democrats who end up opposing this deal, partly because the affinity that we all feel towards the state of Israel is profound, it’s deep,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with Mic.com. “When Israel’s opposed to something, a lot of Democrats as well as Republicans pay attention. The difference, though, is that most of the Democratic senators have taken time to actually read the bill and listen to the arguments. A sizable portion of the Republicans were opposed before the ink was even dry on the deal.”

The only real surprise here, is that Obama would express any kind of affinity towards Israel; ’cause he sure has a strange way of showing it.  I’m just sayin’.
